Halloween Quick Post 6 (Finale): Vampirella

Ok...The last post up  for tonight is the sexy female character Vampirella. ^_^

(Various images of this character)

The bulk of these pictures include artwork by Lucio Parrillio which are available in a collected art book. He is a great artist making his characters look very realistic. Added into the mix of pictures is a comic book cover that I saw browsing the bookstore featuring Vampirella in the pose. ^_^

I have to admit my knowledge on Vampirella is extremely limited. That's not because her comics don't look fun but just because I never got the chance to read them. I have read some comics involving her as a guest star (she was in issues with Catwoman and Red Sonja both of whom I am more familiar with). She seems like a very cool character. She is very powerful possessing all of the abilities you would expect from high level vampires including superhuman strength, speed and transformation abilities.  ^_^ The comics I've read involving her show Vampirella to be quite heroic. She does have some vampire tendencies like drinking blood but she seems to reserve that for villains. From this artwork she's shown to have really nice feet.

I hope I am able to delve more deeply into the character and post more picture of her in the future. On that note... that brings the Halloween tributes to a close. As always though more to come soon!

Halloween Quick Post #5: Wicked Witches (Zenescope)

Two more Zenescope characters. This one is their equivalent of the Wicked Witches of the East and West. One of the famous lines in the Wizard of Oz films is "Only Bad Witches are ugly". That certainly doesn't apply to Zenescope characters. ^_^

(Various Zenescope Comic Book covers including some Limited Edition ones)

Zenescope had multiple series starring Oz characters and the Witches of the East and West (their names are Lynessa and Zamora) are the main villains of the earlier ones. These characters are about as evil as you could get using their magic to enslave and torture the denizens of Oz. They are shown to be particularly cruel in the series Tales from Oz where each of the Wizard of Oz co-leads (the Tin Woodsman, The Cowardly Lion and the Scarecrow) are given a twisted origin. A particularly memorable instance is in the Scarecrow's origin where he was shown  at one time to be human. His family is murdered by Lynessa and Zamora and the witches proceed to turn him into a Scarecrow so they could continue to torture and humiliate him further.

In the comics both characters are shown to be very clever convincing armies to surrender peacefully only to brutally wipe them out without a fight. These women are a little on the darker end of the Villainess spectrum and part of me is (rightfully) afraid of them. The other part feels like it might be fun to be enslaved by these two witches especially if there is foot domination and worship involved.

Ok everyone. One more Halloween post left to close out the night

Stay Tuned!

Halloween Quickie Post 4: Saya Otonashi

This is an image I had tucked away of Saya from Blood+

I always wanted to do a tribute to Saya but material for her was pretty limited as far as I know. I did do a tribute to her sister Diva (which Saya guests stars) here:
https://animefeet.blogspot.com/2009/08/villainess-takeover-blood-diva-bonus.html
and GumballW  posted some tributes from the sequel series here as well. :-)

Saya is a very cool and strong female character. She is the daughter of a Vampire queen* making her really powerful and she uses that power to protect the world from vampires. A true heroine and hot as well.

Still some more Halloween posts to come!

Halloween Quickie Post 3: Waking Dreams Cover

This was another comic cover I saved for obvious reasons. I completed Dracula's good taste in the last post... apparently one of the Zombies on this cover has good taste as well.

The name of this comic book series is Waking Dreams not to be confused with Walking Dead. It was released by the comic company Zenescope who is known to have its share of attractive women. I haven't had a chance to read this one though.

The comic cover artist is Eric Balsudua. He's a really fantastic artist and has done some really beautiful covers featured in other posts on the site (see Fly). I had the chance to meet this artist in person at New York Comic Con. He is very nice.

Ok... Still more Halloween fun still to come.

Your Haunted Castle Keeper host. :-)

Halloween Quick Post 2: Dracula Cover

This was one of the covers of a Dracula Comic I came across on the cover. I saved it due to the cute barefoot blonde.

Dracula apparently has really good taste in women. :-)

More Halloween fun still to come!

Halloween Quick Posts 1: Elvira Mistress of the Dark

Guys I'm sorry. Work has once again been really busy so I wasn't able to get out to release the major Halloween posts I was working on for today. As a consolation... I'll try to release some quick posts celebrating the holiday. First up is a nice Comic Cover of Elvira Mistress of the Dark.

(An alternate cover from the first issue of her comic book series.)

Gumball actually did a really nice tribute to this character earlier this year involving scenes of her animated incarnation from Scooby Doo here:

https://animefeet.blogspot.com/2020/10/happy-halloween-scooby-doo-elvira.html

Elvira is one of the classic Halloween themed characters in similar Morticia Addams (though their demeanors are very different). I don't know too much about her but remember catching a little bits of a movie featuring her on television. She seems playful and has a great sense of humor. I remember her being sarcastic and having a larger than life personality. I also remember watching an interview with her actress (Cassandra Peterson) and thinking she looks incredibly different from the character she portrays. The goth makeup and outfit really give her a memorable look.

Ok more Halloween shorts to come throughout the day.

Gegege no Kitarou: Neko Musume

A normally-quiet youkai girl, who transforms into a frightening cat monster with fangs and feline eyes when she is angry or hungry for fish. Predictably, she does not get along well with Nezumi Otoko. She seems to harbor a slight crush on Kitaro, who sees her only as a friend. She bears some resemblance to the bakeneko of Japanese folklore.
