Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin: Artesia Som Deikun

Also known as Sayla Mass, is Casval Rem Deikun's (Char Azunable's) little sister and the daughter of the Zeon Republic's founder Zeon Zum Deikun. She has a kind personality and worried about her brother at times, during the original MGS, she was a medical student from the incomplete single space colony of the Earth Federation's Side 7 who ends up on the White Base along with other civilians and later became an combat pilot thanks to training from Bright Noa. This is from the third episode of the TV version on the OVAs called "Advent of the Red Comet" which is the retelling of the original MSG and expands Char's and Sayla's backstories.

    1. You didn't know that? It's true. Very similar to Relena and Zechs in Gundam Wing. Shame she couldn't talk more sense into him about his senseless conquests.

    2. I still have to watch the original Gundam series one day. The Relena and Zechs comparison seems perfect though since Zech shares a lot of other characteristics with Char. ^_^

    3. I think Zechs/Milliardo is much more noble and honorable. Sure he had some internal conflicts, but ended up seeing the error of his ways, and ultimately fought for the side of good. But he probably would have lost his mind if something terrible had happened to Relena or Noin.

    6. I had seen Wing but not G yet, I wanted to check it out since I had seen almost every Gundam series for the past few years starting with 00.

    7. You should, it is the first series not to be set in the Universal Century timeline. It's set in the Future Century timeline, and it has more twists and turns than you can imagine.

    8. I know, I heard this is one of the lighthearted Gundam series and it was released along with Macross 7 which also have an similar over-the-top premise with Super Robots.

    9. Yeah, you could say that. But those DG cell things were disgusting.

    2. Dan, how much you know on the Universal Century?

    3. Enough to know it's political and depressing. Can't stand Tomino's kill em all attitude.

    4. Well, there are other mecha anime, Tomino did direct like Ideon and Dunbine has the same attitude. Zambot 3 was the first mecha anime with the Kill em All tone by him.

    5. Thankfully, Brain Powerd did not follow that same pattern.

    6. The reason why is because Tomino had worked on getting rid of his depression issues after finishing up Victory Gundam.

    7. Yes, I was aware of his depression. After that hiatus, I think he did a good with Brain Powered.

    8. Don't forget Turn A Gundam, which is more lighthearted and down-to-earth series.
