Spirited Away: Chihiro Ogino (Megapost)

Today, I present to you a megapost of the main heroine of the legendary Studio Ghibli film, Spirited Away. There were posts for her previously, but those contributors removed themselves from the blog, and the images disappeared along with them. For those who don't know about her, Chihiro is a 10-year-old girl who, while moving to a new neighborhood, enters the world of Kami (spirits) of Japanese Shinto folklore. After her parents are turned into pigs by the witch Yubaba, Chihiro takes a job working in Yubaba's bathhouse to find a way to free herself and her parents and return to the human world. In the beginning of the movie, Chihiro is shown to be a childish, easily-scared, and whiny girl. However, after her experiences at the Bathhouse and the Spirit World, she matures into a capable young adult. Chihiro's growth into a capable individual is a core factor to the movement of Spirited Away's plot. During her adventure in the Spirit World, she matures from an easily-scared girl with a child-like personality to match her age to a hard-working, responsible, and brave young girl who has learned to put her fears aside for those she cares for. To protect her friends and rescue her parents from a spell that has turned them into livestock, Chihiro sheds her former personality and adapts to her environment to become a courageous, quick-witted and reliable girl. These images focus solely on Chihiro in her regular T-shirt and shorts outfit rather than her bathhouse oufit as I prefer the former over the latter. Also, her bathhouse uniform is too closely associated with her being known as Sen. Yubaba had a lot of nerve stripping her of a beautiful name like Chihiro, and reducing it to the uninspired Sen. She is Chihiro. Always has been, and always will be in my eyes. I hope you all love her as much as I do.

  1. What a nice megapost, Dan. At least, her feet are pretty and I would want to smell her sneakers and socks.

    1. Yes, they're very well detailed. And the film itself is a true masterpiece.

    2. @Kojoflo: Why are you saying Pedophile alert?

@Dan: Do you love this movie along with Your name?

    3. Your Name is a little too sad for my tastes. This movie is magical and amazing beyond belief. Her parents should have really listened to her and not explored that tunnel, and eaten that food. This could have all been avoided, but on the other hand, we wouldn't have had this amazing adventure if it was avoided.

    4. So what you're saying is that you want to be a part of the adventure she was in?

    5. I'm not sure whether or not I'd want to be a part of it. I'm talking about the experience of watching it. There be no movie if they avoided the exploring.

    6. Did you still enjoy the experience of this movie?

    1. No Marco. That's Dean Lawrence. He's still here. The names of the contributors who still have access to post to the blog are listed on the left side of the page. He told me he's getting close to her with his Fairy Tail posts.

    1. She was probably wearing her bathhouse uniform in that scene. This collection just focused on her in her regular outfit. Sorry bout that Shadow.

  4. I think this is my favorite movie from this studio. Not only do we get to see a cute barefooter for most of it but the story structure is much more solid that the others
