Uma Musume: Pretty Derby: Special Week 3

These shots were from episode 10, still wishing more of these characters had good foot scenes but she's the main character so it's like what do you expect? More of Special Week here & here.

    1. In a world very much like our own, great race horses of the past have a chance to be reborn as “horse girls” – girls with the ears and tails of horses as well as their speed and endurance. The best of these horse girls go to train at Tokyo's Tracen Academy, hopefully moving on to fame and fortune as both racers and idols. Special Week, a high school horse girl from the countryside, has just transferred to Tracen, and she's determined to fulfill her promise to her mother to become the best horse girl in Japan. On her way to school, she takes a pit stop at the race track and instantly falls in love with Silence Suzuka's style, becoming determined to race on the same team as her.

    4. Still, do you know why Japan is so obsessed with their weird ideas on experimenting girls in different genres?

    5. Custom 958, I'll admit, on the surface level, with horse girls not only racing, but are also idols as well, it's actually stupid. But when you look into the idol industry, as well as the horse racing industry in Japan, it's actually a dumb, but genius move if that makes sense. I mean, look at how popular Love Live and Idolm@ster are in Japan, especially in Akihabara.

    6. Yes, I know, Noah. Despite how absurd it sounds and looks, it actually works. Still, too many idol series keep coming after another in my opinion.

    7. Well, that's Japan for you. I've taken a class on Japanese in high school, and even from what I've learned, I'm still surprised to learn something new in Japan.
Also, I can see why people would have a problem with this anime. Didn't really expect TOO big an audience given anime like Tokyo Ghoul and My Hero Academia out this season, but at least it's big enough given the genre Uma Musume falls under.
