Underrated Modern Anime

Can you name or at least remember any underrated or forgotten modern anime that is not mainstream that is good? I mean, if your female character is in one.

    1. Well Eromanga sensei isn't that unknown. And Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is even getting french dubbed.

    2. I see. I do have some in mind.

    3. Oh, her. Never seen the anime, have you?

    4. You seen to know more on newer anime than older ones.

    5. I agree on Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, that got a bit shadowed with the likes of MHA and Attack on Titan. Haven't seen Bamboo Blade, but Eromanga Sensei? I have to respectfully disagree on that.

    6. Noah, I do remember watching Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid and Bamboo Blade but not Eromanga Sensei. I do agree that Dragon Maid came out at the wrong time.

    7. Noah: What’s wrong with Eromanga Sensei?

    8. Simply put Gumball, it's not that good.

    9. In fact, you're the first person I've encountered who likes Eromanga Sensei.

    10. I’m aware a lot of people don’t like Eromanga Sensei and I assume the reason being people think it’s too “incestitive”

    11. Exactly. I had to stop after I believe the 2nd episode, where what's her face was talking about d***s.

    12. What do you mean by "incestitive"?

  2. Monster Rancher, Star Ocean EX and Mado King Grandzort. :-) I can't even find the latter on Kissanime... That is how rare it is.

    1. I do know Metal Armor Dragonaur.

    2. Yeah that just shows how rare Mado King Grandzort is. :-)

Never heard of Metal Armor Dragonaur. Seems like another rare one. :-)

    3. Of course it is because both Grandzort and Dragonaur were made by the same company, Sunrise in the late 1980s.

    4. :-D Neat. Grandzort was the first Mecha anime I've ever watched.

    5. To me, Voltron was my first mecha anime I saw. I even went back further with Gigantor.

  3. Simca,Emily, and Kururu from Air Gear.
Toei ruined the anime, but it got better when another studio picked it up.

Miu and Shigure from Kenichi Mightiest Disciple. One of the best Martial arts anime/manga I've ever watched and read.

Dorothy from MAR, it was a simple but really cool show.

    Haruhi from Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
Such a great series, still hoping for a continuation after hearing some recent news about it.

Maya from Tenjo Tenge. Best character in the show that's not an idiot or psychotic.

Hilda from Beelzebub. She was like a lot like Android 18 from DBZ.

Tsukuyu from Gintama. Also much like 18.

    And Medaka from Medaka Box.
It was a strange, but awesome anime.

  4. Witchblade, Symphogear, Air Master, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi, Azumanga Daioh, Tenchi Muyo (the only harem anime that isn't trash), Sailor Moon is worth a go round again too even if it is mainstream. The original, not Crystal.

  6. I would say Noein is very underappreciated. Also, Kurogane Communication, Piano~the Melody of a young girl's Heart, Mon Colle Knights, Flint the Time Detective, Fighting Foodons, Brain Powerd, Key the Metal Idol, and even Shaman King. The latter because the fans obviously didn't appreciate Funimation releasing the series on DVD, and they gave up on it after releasing only two volumes. A shame really, and several other titles I listed should be released uncut and unedited with both the original Japanese, and an English dub.

  8. Sakura Quest, Holms of Kyoto (fairly new), Masamune Kun's Revenge!, Nil Admirari no Tenbin, and Citrus (a lot of good foot scenes, very under rated anime and series over all).

    1. I know only Sakura Quest and Msasmune but not the others.

    2. Give Citrus a watch, its very deep (though the anime has a short run, it was good as well). Too add, there are some decent foot shots of the main leads too.
