Clannad: Kyou and Ryou Fujibayashi

A double feeture today. ^_^ The twins from Clannad. :-) This set of twins is one of the major reasons I chose to watch this anime. Both are diligent and successful students being the class representatives of their respective classes. Anyway first up is the Elder of the two...

Kyou

Since it is Friday. ^_^ Let's post a few figures of Kyou as well. :-)

This one is a nice model of Kyou in her sports outfit. It is 1/12 scale (23cm) released by the company Faninaitsu. The figure highlights Kyou's athletic ability in the anime showcasing her in her gym clothes. ^_^

The nice thing about this one for foot fans is that this model opted to show her without shoes allowing us to get some good views of Kyou's socked feet which are surprisingly detailed showing the outline of Kyou's feet within them. ^_^

There's also a second model depicting Kyou in her socks her as well. This time she is wearing her student uniform.  

This model is 1/8 scale (4.29 inches) PVC model. It is produced by Kotobukiya. ^_^ 

The two twins have significantly different personalities. Kyou being the older twin is more authoritative compared with her younger sister who is more calm and reserved. At the same time Kyou is a good older sister always looking out for her younger twin. Kyou is shown in the anime to be really athletic. She helps Tomoya and Sunohara compete in a basketball competition for the drama club. She also has a pet boar named Botan which she loves a lot. She taught him tricks like acting like a stuffed anime (plushy mode) so that she could sneak him into her classes with her. She can also get him to act like her pillow or massager. Kyou goal is to become a school teacher which is something that she accomplishes in the second half of the anime. She is shown to be really good with children.

One of Clannad's alternate endings focuses on a romance between Kyou and Tomoya. She convinces him to date Ryou but the chemistry between Tomoya and Kyou was a lot stronger. He eventually realizes that Kyou  is the one for him. It works out for everyone at the end though as Ryou is understanding and gives the two her blessing to date one another. Ryou goes onto forming a relationship with another boy that she likes and Tomoya and Kyou begin dating one another.

Speaking of the younger sister...

Ryou

Ryou doesn't get as much screentime as her older sister in the anime but she is a cool character. She is very shy, sweet and compassionate. She love fortune telling and often uses cards to read people's forcing. In the anime Kyou notices that Ryou has a crush on Tomoya and encourages Ryou to pursue it. The three of them have lunch together really often as Kyou tries to play matchmaker.

Ryou eventually becomes a nurse in Clannad after story. The visual novel touches upon this a little more as Ryou has a romance with a boy named Kappei who she wind up helping after a scooter accident. She winds up marrying and the two of them have children together
