    1. Since this is from Makoto Shinkai, the guy who directed Your Name, Garden of Words, 5 Centimeters per Second and Children Who Chase Lost Voices.

    3. Wonderfull movie, beautiful animation, great characters. Just shows me how much superior Japanese animation is over western animation.

    4. What do you mean by western animation? Why called it that?

    6. @Custom: It's a geographical thing. Western animation refers to the western hemisphere, while eastern animation refers to the eastern hemisphere. In this case, Erich is using the term to refer to the United States.

    7. @Dan, why not use US or American instead to be more specifically where at that hemisphere?

    8. @Custom: you're right, it is more specific to say it that way. The phrase just kind of stuck though. And I think I may have been wrong, Western animation might actually refer to the Western world instead of the Western Hemisphere. I thought they were the same thing, but they're actually different from one another. Wikipedia has articles on both.

    9. That's stupid because some places are not from that hemisphere. I mean, not all countries around the world follow the same rules.
