Supergirl: Being Human

Last year DC released a 4 issue mini-series featuring Supergirl called Being Super. The really nice thing about it was that Supergirl was barefoot a lot in it. :-)
The above image is the cover of the first issue and was used in a lot of the promotional material advertising the series. It was a great sign that foot fans could be in for a treat while reading it. ^_^
Kara wears ankle socks a lot in the series so we get glimpses of part of her feet even when she is wearing shoes. 😃
Luckily there were several full scale barefoot movements as well. ^_^
We get some sock scenes too. :-D
The series takes place when Kara was in Highschool. She was on the track team and received a new pair of running shoes for her birthday so we get a lot of foot focused scenes of her wearing them.
The fact that the shoes look so damaged after only a couple of days just goes to show how powerful Kara's feet are.
The series also shows a lot of great scenes of Supergirl's feet when she is lounging in her bedroom.
There are several more scenes showing Kara's ankles in the series. I only took a small percentage of them to give her barefoot scenes more pop. If you guys want I can do an expanded post showcasing the additional caps though.

As a Bonus here are some images of Kara's Goth Friend Dolly
One of the antagonists for the series throws Dolly off a tower and she winds up losing one of her shoes during the fall.
:-D Fortunately Kara was able to save her.
(As mentioned above, these were all collected from the mini-series Supergirl: Being Human Issues 1-4)

Other Anime Feet Tributes involving Supergirl:

This marks the Ninth time Kara has appeared on the site. ^_^ I doubt very much that you've seen the last of her. :-D

I don't have a lot to say about this series. It is a good read and I definitely recommend checking it out if you're a Supergirl fan (not just because the barefoot content in it is so awesome). ^_^ I also want to give some special acknowledgment to the team behind this comic Mariko Tamaki and Joëlle Jones. Joëlle's art in particular is really gorgeous and I really like how she drew Supergirl. I hope that this series gets a sequel in the future. ^_^
Alright everyone that's all for now. Until next time...

  1. A pity her toes don’t poke out of her shoes after running that fast

  3. I miss the way they drew women back in 2008 or something. They’re not as sexy now. :(

    1. I think each decade has a wide range of styles with the artwork varying dramatically between artists.

2008 definitely did have some amazing artwork. In terms of Supergirl though, I think my artist to draw the character though was Michael Turner. People criticize her costume during his tenure for showing her midriff but I thought it was massively sexy. :-)

    2. Sidenote: In case anyone is not familiar with old school FF lingo... "The pose" refers to this particular position (1, 2)

  6. Nice post! :D Supergirl's always a fave.

If you're looking for any recommendations, the Tangled animated series has no shortage of barefoot scenes with Rapunzel. And one episode introduces her aunt Willow, her mom's twin sister, who shares several traits with Rapunzel, including her taste in footwear. (meaning none XD)

    1. Thanks Atomic Chinchilla.

That's a great recommendation...I think Gumball has a Rapunzel post coming up that will feature the Willow episode you are talking about. I'm hoping to do some more Tangled tributes in the future as well. ^_^

    1. Thanks Destiny Dueler. :-D Her socked feet are cute as well. I particularly love her ankle socks. It seemed like the artist paid attention to her clothing giving her a variety of footwear to wear in this series. :-)
