Katherine is a British registered nurse and acts as the team mom; especially towards the young child, Tim. It turns out she was an alcoholic who had her real son taken away from her for abuse and sees Tim as a second chance at motherhood. Her Medusa infection is more advanced than most of the others selected for this experiment.
