Ok Today is Officially the 10th Anniversary for this Website. I made my first post here on November 27th 2007. To commemorate 10 years of the site...Here is a tribute to a character that I've been collecting material for almost since the very beginning Catwoman. Catwoman was my first female character crush so she has a really special place in my heart. As was the case with fellow villainesses Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, this is going to multi-part tribute as I cover every incarnation of the character that I know about. :-) Let's start with a fun one... The version of her from the Batman Cartoon series. We've given a great view of this character's feet as she kicks off her shoes in her Debut episode. :-)

This is a great version of Catwoman giving you everything that you would expect from the character. She's intelligent, playful and she has the acrobatics, fighting moves and thievery skill fans of Catwoman associate with the villainess. This Selina has a day job as a charity fundraiser so we get to see her masquerade as a business woman. She buns up her hair and wears glasses and high-heel in the role. At night Selina is a Cat Burglar who steal valuable items for the thrill of it.
The Batman series has a great animation team and this Selina looks really good. Her costume seems to be based on later versions of her comic character as she wears goggles to cover her eyes. It has some unique designs of its own such as a ruffled collar that is reminiscent of a scarf and some touches of red on her ears, gloves and boots. The fight scenes of this series are also really well choreographed and this Selina moves really fluidly and quick. If you haven't seen the episodes of the Batman that Catwoman appears in. I definitely recommend checking them out.
This version Selina is also voiced by Gina Gershon, a hot actress in her own right. 😸

DeleteVery nice. Glad you're finally doing Selina, glad there will be more. When this series first came out I wasn't a big fan as it was so drastically different from Bruce Timm's work, plus what they did to the Joker and some of the outfits and art. Lately I started watching this and actually enjoy it.
ReplyDelete:-D Yes this character is long overdue. Yeah there was a bit of an adjustment for me too particularly for Riddler and the Joker's designs. Poison Ivy's too come to think of it. ^_^; I liked Selina's though. I also liked the fight scenes in this one. They were animated really fluidly so it was a pretty fun watch. ^_^

ReplyDeleteI saw her barefooted during the Batman Telltale game when Bruce chooses to sleep on her couch rather than romancing with her just before Harvey came and was enraged.
