This upcoming anime based on the manga of the same name is about an hot-headed athletic named Ichigeki Danko, who is the daughter of the legendary dodgeball player Danpei Ichigeki. By inheriting her father's fighting spirit and courage, Danko fights her way to assemble and lead the strongest dodgeball team in the modern age of the sport, taking on against a world that has largely lost its passion for the sport after her father was retired. In fact, this is the direct sequel of the 1989 manga, "Honō no Tōkyūji: Dodge Danpei" due to some characters of that manga appearing in this anime despite the sport being played by mostly women in the modern era. To me, it felt like Kill la Kill meets Keijo minus the fanservice and replace the bloody brawls with dodgeball.
