Custom's Picks: Pokémon the Movie: Secrets of the Jungle

After watching this Pokemon film on Netflix, it is a much darker than Power of Us due to Koko's (Al Molybden's) parents died in an car accident by the scientist, Dr. Zed, who wanted to go after the healing powers of the Great Tree despite his colluges warn him that humans and Pokemon must co-exist to understand each other, leaving their son alone in the jungle which led the Mythical Pokémon, Zarude and the Zarude tribe to raise him.

  1. This film has a lot of shots with bare boy feet. Definitely more for folks that are into that. The Pokemon anime focuses a lot on guys / boys lately. No female lead (Choe doesn't really count) and almost no important female side characters.

    1. Do you hate this change of pace on Pokémon where you see more male feet or characters and no female leads?

    2. No, it is just that now the enders are unbalanced. Pokémon had some really nice female characters in the past such as May, Dawn, Iris, etc., but now all females are reduced to stereotypical girl roles, where they are almost not allowed to do anything. The best females they had for this season so far are only Jessie and Bea.

    3. So, the female characters got less screentime than their male counterparts in the recent Pokémon anime seasons?

    4. Yes, which was probably the reason why Goh, Ash's new companion, has a more feminine design, probably to balance out the missing female lead this time.

    5. Will you keep watching the anime despite all of that?

    6. Nah, it became very boring. Goh is too much of a Gary-Stu, and we also have no recurring characters besides a handful of characters.

    1. Have you noticed the lack of an main female lead or character?

    2. No, but that's a problem in my opinion. They need a female character. Bring back Misty.

    3. An permanent female character that stays with Ash and Goh until the end?
