In the Heart of Kunoichi Tsubaki: Benisumomo
She has a pink hair, and uses an hair clip and have a black choke. She's use a sarashi to cover her chest. Uses a pleated grey skirt. She often use a grey toeless legwear, and sandals.
Un-Funimation's (now merged with Crunchyroll through Sony) well known for their lack of quality control regarding, what they would consider, shows that fall in the low-key or niche bracket, if they aren't received by a large enough fan following. So don't exactly expect the AOT or MHA treatment. Shows that they really look down on especially, they'll take a lot of liberties modifying the script, incentivizing a more or less cynical/crude performance during the dubbing process. Also be sure to avoid any show with Jamie Marchi on ADR staff like the plague.
@Benny: I actually liked Jamie Marchi when she voiced Motoko Minagawa in Fruits Basket. And I'm glad she reprised her in the remake. They have a good bunch of talent there, others have traveled there from around the country to do voice work, and vice versa. Monica Rial is one of the best.
>Monica Rial I do like when they use some of the old ADV VAs (Karbowski in Railgun), just their direction can be so very erratic. Fruits Basket was one of Funi's flagship titles so you could expect a stellar performance, but then there's like 2005 Negima's dub where they had no idea what they were doing (to be fair neither did the anime). And Marchi probably does better voice work than she has any business writing scripts.
Also did Laura Bailey return to reprise Tohru or is that awful Burch bitch still being offered her old roles? Kinda reluctant to find out.
@Benny: Yes, Laura Bailey reprised her role as Tohru Honda. And I'm very glad she did, nobody could do her better. Many of the original cast from the 2001 anime reprised their roles. In English only that is, the Japanese cast is entirely new. I can give you a complete list of who came back.
@Benny: That was on the count of the creator. She wanted a fresh start, new cast, new staff, new everything. She did not get along with the director in the first anime.
Never learned the full story but was pretty surprised to hear about that actually, considering Akitaro Daichi's a damn GOAT of a director. Guess they just didn't connect on many points, quite reminiscent of Kare Kano really.
I hate to say it Deaton, but I think companies are getting very lazy when it comes to dubbing Japanese anime. They're just doing it less and less now, someone has to get the rights to it first, and they'd have to order an English dub. It could happen if it's popular enough.
Oh she's a sweet one!
ReplyDeleteDean Lawrence The images of tsubaki, rindou, asagao and sazanka are missing, right?
ReplyDeleteYou will see them soon.
DeleteJust for anticipation, who are you posting in your order?
DeleteOne of the senses.
DeleteDang, the wild feet ninja ride never ends.
ReplyDeleteBenisumomo is one of the best!
ReplyDeleteThere's also Hana.
ReplyDeleteI wish they were English dubbed versions of this anime show cause sub is hard to understand
ReplyDeleteYeah same here.
DeleteAs long as it's not Funimation, otherwise they'll all end up sounding like a bunch of fat, chain smoking roasties.
DeleteWhat?
DeleteI disagree with that. And I think the FUNimation name will soon be phased out in favor of Crunchyroll.

DeleteOh great, they pulled another Genshiken. I'm sickened but curious.
