And is keeping it hostage for years until the rights expire or the licensor decides it's not worth the trouble to license out again and it becomes entirely unavailable whatsoever also a bad thing? I'm asking you this because the whole streaming jail thing is quite pathetic at times and not because the whole illegal piracy on watching anime online with no restrictions. How many times you heard the term, "____ Jail" in relation to anime streaming both TV series and movies? Something that is locked away from being seen unless you got a subscription to any streaming platform like Netflix, Hulu, HIDIVE, Crunchyroll, Disney+, etc.
