Sesame Feet: Gabby

Ok our last Sesame Feet post for today is a tribute to Maria's daughter Gabriella...Like her mother she has a scene where she uses her feet to educate the people watching the show.

At the time I was watching this series Gabriella was just a child. She was played by Sonia Manzano's (Maria's actress) real life daughter also named Gabriella. Later on apparently the show switched the actress playing Gabriella to Desiree Casado who currently portrays Gabby. Desiree was the one who portrayed her in the above scene. I read that in recent seasons Gabby has taken on a more prominent role in Sesame Street as they try to give a little more screentime to the younger members of the cast. That's great because she is really cute. :-)

Sesame Feet: Maria

Ok continuing with Sesame Feet's new goal of providing Family Friendly entertainment to Foot Fans. Here is a tribute to Sesame Street's Maria.

Just for those who haven't seen this series, Maria is one long running female characters on Sesame Street. She works in a Fix-it shop with her husband Luis. They have a daughter named Gabi. As her job would suggest, she is very good at fixing and also helps mediate disputes in the neighborhood. 

I think Maria was probably one of the earliest instances I can remember that I noticed myself thinking feet were attractive. I didn't know what the phrase "foot fetish" meant at the time but I remember seeing a scene similar to the one above and enjoying it. I definitely had a childhood crush on Maria and seeing the count play with her toes made me notice her feet. After that I couldn't help thinking about Maria's feet when she came on the screen and hoping that they would air that particular clip again. Sonia Manzano really did an excellent job of making her character charming and enjoyable to watch.

It's worth noting that in the Sesame Street series, the Count counts Maria's toes multiple times. I can confirm this was not a rumor because I actually remember seeing another version of the above song when I was a kid where Maria was in a different clothing outfit and in a better position for us to see her soles. However, only the version above seems to be available online. I hope the other scenes get posted one day. I've been trying to find them for a long time

Sesame Feet: Gina Bonus

Ok going into the exciting new direction of the blog. Here is a tribute to Sesame Street's Gina Jefferson.

If you watched Sesame Street as kid when Gina was on the show you probably had a crush on this hot blonde. Portrayed by Alison Bartlett O' Reilly,  Gina was a college student who worked in Mr. Hooper's Store. She would later go on to become a veterinarian. My memory is sort of vague now but I remember her as being both playful and sweet at the same time. It makes sense that Sesame Street would cast her because she is the type of person that would make a great teacher. Even at a young age, I can imagine that children would be pretty attentive to anything she had to say. I know I was. :-)

Supposedly, Gina has some moments on Sesame Street similar to another female character on the show, Maria (you'll see her in the next post) where she uses her feet as learning tool.  I can't remember seeing any of these scenes myself but if you were to type the words Gina Jefferson or Allison Bartlett into google...you see the words feet and toes pop up after them as a recommended suggestion. If a foot scene with her exists, it's definitely really sought after. I'm just happy there's good image of her soles available.

A little bit of trivia, Gina's actress Allison had a brief part on the Sopranos. Though you can hear a little bit of a Brooklyn accent in her voice. It's still a radically different role for her. Kudos to her for being able portray such a wide range.

An Exciting New Direction

Well the 54th Poll of the Month has come to an end, however which of those maids cleaned house with the votes will have to remain a mystery for now. Instead I am pleased to announce the exciting new direction this blog was heading in. :-)
