Clannad: Tomoyo Sakagami

Ok the next Clannad girl up is Tomoyo Sakagami. :-) As you guys will see. Tomoyo has a powerful set of feet and is able to give Chun Li a run for her money in the Lightning kicks department. I just wish that she showed her feet a little bit more often in the anime. Anyway....

Tomoyo is a transfer student to Hikarizaka high school. In her previous school she got into a lot of fights and has a reputation for being a really strong fighter. She is trying to turn over a new leaf and avoid getting into those type of conflicts but Tomoya's friend Sunohara often tends to annoy her aggravating her into abusing him with her skills.

Tomoyo's goal is to become the student council president of her school so that she use her influence to protect a Cherry Blossom grove that her younger brother really liked from being destroyed. He goal aligns with the Drama club who want her to become the Student Council president so she can approve their club. As a result Tomoya and Nagisa wind up campaigning for her. Though determination and hard work Tomoyo is able to become the student council president using her athletic skill to gain popularity and moving herself one step closer to her goal.

It should also be noted that one of the alternate ending episodes for Clannad focuses heavily on Tomoyo. In that storyline Nagisa isn't around and the main character of the series,Tomoya*, falls for Tomoyo instead. The two of them have a relationship but when Tomoyo becomes the Student council president she becomes really busy and Tomoya feels that being a school delinquent, he is holding her back. He winds up breaking up with Tomoyo and becoming depressed. Months later Tomoyo tracks him down and after informing him of completing her mission to save the Cherry Blossoms. She tells Tomoya that she wants to be with him and there isn't a future where she can be happy without him leading them to continue their romance.

Tomoya is a great character. She's seem to encompasses all the elements people might desire in a female character. She is athletic, intelligent and beautiful and she is shown to be a really caring girlfriend. She can also be dominating depending on the situation as well as shown with her interactions with Sunohara.
