RG Veda: Ashura

To celebrate the New Year, I found this series from CLAMP and this main protagonist is an strange one to post because of the backstory of being the only survivor of the Ashura Clan and its leader by birth who is always with Yasha after the previous leader of Ashura clan was killed by Taishakuten, the main villain in the series. You see, Ashura was born without an biological gender despite being a male war entity based on the Asura from Buddhism and Hinduism. The lack of sex is justified as it's the result of a curse that will keep the Ashura clan from continuing living on. I don't know if you would consider this character as an female due to the appearance and voice. This is also CLAMP's first manga they wrote.

  1. How was this series? Do you recommend? Clamp animes usually fun to watch so it might be good.

    1. It was pretty good and the manga is even better if a bit slower.

  2. Always nice when the leading female is a barefooter.

    3. Oh, I heard of that but I wonder would you like that.

    4. Not particularly this. As the cast is all males, and Ashura is genderless (although voiced by a girl in both languages and sounding like a girl in both too). I prefer an an all barefoot female cast, as I'm sure most here would too.

    6. I try. You know, at this time, Clamp actually had 11 members. Now of course that number has dwindled to four, but the work is better and more popular than ever.

    8. Rayearth, Angelic Layer, Chobits, and of course Cardcaptor Sakura is #1.

    9. Rayearth, Angelic Layer and Cardcaptor Sakura are my picks too. So much foot scenes.
