 Kanata Akehoshi is Earth's representative athlete and the daughter of a family of potato farmers. Due to being used to farming work since childhood, she has incredible physical ability. She is bright, cheery, and quick to make friends. Kanata's grandmother taught her the basics of many sports, and for that she will always love and respect her.

This sequel immediately takes place after the first movie with Nobita has managed to change his future path for the better, making Shizuka marry him but after being taken by despair, he decided to return to the past to re-visit his beloved grandmother, who died when he was still in kindergarten and to whom he was really fond of, his grandmother was happy that Nobita came back in time to be with her, and confides in him a great desire: to meet his future bride. Meanwhile, the future Nobita, who is about to marry Shizuka and achieved his "dream of happiness", is halted by a panic attack and fled back into the past to see Doraemon again, fearing that he is not the right person for Shizuka to wed. However, the duo of Nobita and Doraemon got involved in a series of mishaps in the future, as well as the present, in order to fulfill Grandma’s wish of seeing Nobita's bride.
