I would prefer if people didn’t but that’s not gonna stop certain people from doing it anyway. Plus there are some side characters with feet scenes like Rin you can do.
I didn't think Kagome would really like sandals because she grew accustomed to wearing Footwear of the present day. So I'm not really sure if she likes wearing these clothes, or she's just trying to fit in the sengoku era.
