Takao is the personification of the heavy cruiser of the same name known as a 'Mental Model'. She starts out as a rather arrogant antagonist; however following a defeat at the hands I-401 she switches side. She sacrifices her hull to merge with I-401 in order to protect Gunzou and Iona.
