The show was originally pitched as "Amphibiland". Anne kept both shoes, but one had a hole in it with her bare toes visible.
I'm kind of glad didn't end up this way. I still don't understand how she lost her other shoe. I hope she can get home one day, and the series doesn't abruptly end unfinished.
Eh... I stick with anime or video games. They have much better character designs.
