Matsuri, nicknamed "Mats" in the manga, is an eleven-year-old glasses-wearing girl with a pet ferret named John, and is depicted as having a very timid personality in the story. She is often the subject of Miu's teasing and can resort to crying and hiding behind Nobue. She is one grade below Chika and Miu, in the same class as Ana, with whom she quickly became friends. Matsuri discovers that Ana can speak Japanese fluently and helps her hide both her Japanese language skills from the rest of their class and her lack of English language skills. While she has gray hair in the anime, her hair is white in the manga.
Thanks again Dan for the big help.
Episode1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,
Good job Dean! Matsuri was a good character to start with.
ReplyDeleteNext will be Ana Coppola
DeleteAna is my 2nd favorite. She's so polite, and like Chika, she doesn't let Miu take advantage of her. She still acts slightly less mature than Chika though. Matsuri is very timid and cries a lot. She's still a nice girl though.
DeleteHere's one to look for. Birdy from Birdy the Mighty Decide. At a moment in season 2 episode 2 when she chases after some mook, she takes off her boots and socks to pursue him barefoot since they slow her down
ReplyDeleteI look at it but the scenes didn't really look all that good and it didn't have any close ups
DeleteSame here. The videos I watched of it were of poor quality though. Are you sure she was wearing socks Viper? I only saw her pull her boots off.
Delete:-D This series is going to be another helping of cuteness overload isn't it?
ReplyDeleteGreat post guys. ^_^
You bet it is! I think it's what they call a moe comedy.
DeleteYes, King.
DeleteNot bad, Dean, even though moe series like this one are not my thing.
ReplyDeleteWhy is that?
DeleteToo much cuteness, not enough to keep me going.
DeleteNo, moe is really not a genre of shows (doesn't stop ANN from forcing the whole "moe anime" meme, though...), shows like these are simply slice-of-life comedies, focusing on situational humor. Sometimes they place focus on lolis(Strawberry Marshmallow), teen girls(K-on!), teen boys(Kimi to Boku), adult characters (Servant × Service, Working!) or no particular group (Tamako Market). There's also non-comedy SoL(ARIA, Yokohama, Croisée) sometimes referred to as Iyashikei(healing shows).
ReplyDeleteOh, okay Benny. Thanks for that analysis.
