I think you would like her though Match. Iris is a tomboy and also the eighth gym leader in the videogame. She trains dragon type pokemon. :-) She really a fun and playful character.
Speaking of Pokemon, I heard in the new game they brought back all the old trainers for you to face off against in a certain. I really want to play it.

:'( I miss Misty! don't get me wrong Iris is a fun character and all, but its when things were really starting 2 get interesting 4 Ash and Misty they go they're seperate ways? Reuniting a couple of times??? Ash meeting another 3 lassies? And Ash never getting any older while other characters seem or aging? (I get at that as Match25 brought it up as a good point :P) Oh well, guess thats what fan-fics were created 4 lol
One of Iris' costumes in Black 2 and White 2 includes SANDALS. It's only a matter of time before we see that in the anime. Likely next generation (like May in the Sinnoh arc).
dear gosh this is the first ep i have seen since misty left and it has gotten so kiddy looking. Ash looks freaking younger than when he started and that green guy just creeps me out.
Just watching "Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice" and Iris appears barefoot in some flashbacks about her and her village's elder. You may need to get a HD version of the movie, though.
