Penny from Inspector Gadget (2015)

Did you know? Inspector Gadget got a new series. It's a little controversial as it shifted from 2D animated to a CG animated series. But despite that while being obviously more modern it's still a pretty good show and a welcome revival in my books. In this series Penny is now 14 and far more involved in the plots. It's still Inspector's show but she is definitely stronger in this version.

I apologize about the quality inconsistencies in advance. Netflix doesn't want to stay HD for me unfortunately but every shot is at least good quality.

I hope you enjoyed it and as always -- Thanks for reading!

  1. Awesome Mrbatemanwearingawig. I like the shift. ^_^ CG feet are the best. The new series looks pretty good. :-)

    1. I agree! CGI feet always remains a certain level of quality animated just doesn't have. I absolutely love both but a lot of time animated can be so disappointingly poorly detailed.

      Thank you!

    2. KSC Hopefully I can contact you through this =0, well I found something interesting and wanted to know if it would be acceptable. It's nothing pervy or odd or against policy well it's this game of One Piece and apparently there's different outfits and Boa is barefoot just wondering if I should screenshot those and upload them? Wasn't sure on the whole thing since it's a game

    3. I'm not him but from my years of frequenting this blog I must say video games are acceptable. Not only has KingSideCastle himself have done it before but I've frequently made tributes to video games as well.

The way I see it, all animated females, from any source of media are acceptable to be tributes here. Comics, anime, western animation, movies, video games, hell, even webcomics have a place here.

Also in one of the One Piece 3DS games it has Amiibo support and Nami gets to be dressed up as Wii Fit Trainer barefoot and all. Unfortunately it was rather chibi from what I remembered.

    4. :-D Yeah Destiny Dueler...Not only are Videogame screenshots allowed, seeing Boa barefoot sounds really awesome. I would love to see screenshots of her in the game. ^_^

:-) Wow that alternate costume for Nami sounds great as well Mrbatemanwearinawig. It seems like the Wi Fit trainer is the gift that keeps on giving.

  2. The series is really good. It picks up from the original cartoon, and Tara Strong voices Penny! Beautiful post, Mr. B.

    1. Yeah. When I first saw the intro I was skeptical as it was incredibly modern while having none of that Inspector charm but I'm glad I gave the show a chance. Thank you!

  3. CGI girls don't go barefoot nearly often enough. I'm still ticked that Miko never took off her boots in Transformers Prime. And it doesn't look like Amy or Sticks will lose their shoes in Sonic Boom. So disappointing.

    Awesome post!

    1. Thanks!

If I were you I'd pay attention to the Archie comics Sonic Boom because as an avid reader of Archie Comics there was one instance in issue 4, I believe, where Sticks wore slippers that exposed her heels. She will also be a major character in the huge crossover series between Sega and Capcom so I expect some content your way soon. And while I don't watch the show I do believe it was picked up for a 52 episode run. So there's plenty of time for them to lose those shoes.

And unfortunately with CGI series and especially tv CGI series they have to worry about budget issues. It's why you'll often see characters sleeping in their shoes and pants even though the scene clearly doesn't call for it. I'm very disappointed Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon never lost her boots even in bed.

    2. I was really let down by Astrid not taking her boots off. I keep hoping they'll have a swimming or beach episode, but it makes sense that they wouldn't since they live in the cold north.

On the plus side, I'm happy to report that Tip from Home gets a great scene near the end of the movie where she finally shows off her feet. Dreamworks movies have Pixar beat when it comes to that.

    3. Swim/beach episode is implausible but a hotspring episode/scene isn't.

Oh, nice. I was planning on seeing that movie this week and that's great news. When I think about it, what Pixar movie even has content? I cannot recall a single Pixar movie and that's including Brave that has foot content in it.

    4. The only instance I can think of is the beginning of Up. Young Ellie is barefoot the entire time.

    5. Yeah. Inside Out looks like it's going to change that, though. Joy being barefoot all of the time and Riley seems like she has a few shots from the trailers.

  4. @Mrbatemanwearingawig: I though that CGI series didn't have to worry about budget issues and things like that. O well, this is something that will have to be dealt with by fan art (and fan artists) on deviantArt.
