 Akari is a hardworking and somewhat clumsy young woman who has taken care of her cancer-stricken father ever since her mother died.  On a gold panning trip her dad shows Akari's boyfriend the value of passion.

Bamboo Blade: Konatsu Harada

Konatsu is a member of the Machido High School Kendo team and is considered its second strongest kendōka.  She is highly self motivated and enjoys practice.  She is usually quite and can become flustered by the actions of her teammates.
