Sae is a denizen of Hidamari apartments and is one year ahead of Yuno and Miyako. Already a published author under the pen name 'Aya Tachibana' Sae attends Yamabuki high school so she can illustrate her own work. She is hard working, often falling asleep at her desk after staying up all night on her writing. While she normally has a calm and cool demeanor it can fall apart when it comes to her sister, her masculine looks, her closeness to Hiro, or her her (nonexistent) love life.
