The Owl House: Luz Noceda (Season 1)

Luz Noceda is the main protagonist of The Owl House. She is a self-assured human teenage girl who accidentally stumbled upon a portal to the Demon Realm, (a dimension where magical creatures are real and humans are despised). In order to disguise herself as a witch at the witches' school, she begins learning magic under Eda's tutelage, despite not having magical abilities of her own. Luz is of Latina descent.

  1. Boy... female feet in western animation are becoming with every generation rarer and rarer. And not even that the girls in western animation look also with each generation more like boys. When I first saw the screenshot of Luz I actually thought she was a boy first.

    1. Well she is a tomboy and tomboys tend to have those types of appearances

    2. Most tomboys still can be recognized as girls. Even with Makoto from Street Fighter I could see that she was a girl.

    3. You guys should see singer, kd Lang. To this very day, she still gets mistaken for a man.

    4. From what I've been seeing, there are some people that actually take offense to the term "tomboy" and have either been tying to co-opt it into being a form of FtM or just phase it out entirely. They feel that the current definition is simply too outdated and is just a halfhearted or negative representation of trans-people in modern-day animation and movies. Some even go the more extreme and deny tomboys flat out, saying you can only either full-stop or go the full monty. Which may explain a lot of non-distinguishable designs in some shows.

  4. I know Season 2, Episode 9 of Owl House already featured a new scene without any socks or shoes. Hope someone posts that soon!
