Diamond Daydreams (Diamond Dust Drops) (Kita E): Karin Shiraishi

 Karin is a young woman who spends most of her time in a hospital due to a form of collapsed lung called pneumothorax.  Although this is curable by surgery Karin developed Tomophobia after her father died during his own surgery.  She also suffers from nightmares over this.

While in the hospital Karin mistakenly believes a young doctor named Amakasu is sending her encouraging e-mails and develops a crush on him; only to find out he is dating Nurse Yuki.
