Figure Feet Fridays again. Our next figure up is Kagura from Azumanga Daioh. :-D

I actually did a tribute to Kagura Azumanga Daioh's anime incarnation way back in 2008:
actually all of the characters in the series have been featured at one time or another
I really like this character a lot. She's very energetic and was always fun to see on screen. ^_^ She doesn't get a lot of screen time in the earlier episodes of the anime because she was originally a student in another teacher's (Nyamo's) home room but joins up with the other leads in the series in the following semester. She pretty much steals every scene she is in. ^_^
A lot of images of Kagura in a swimsuit tend to depict her as having tan lines. I guess it's because she's one of the more athletic characters in the series and winds up being in the sun a lot.
We have four Models of the character being featured in this tribute here. The first is a 1/8 Diorama model of Kagura from her poll scene in episode 5. The model is showcased at Codyscoop's website here: http://codyscoop.com/. I love the detail in that model's design. The swimsuit looks like it is made out of really material and you can see small traces of water on Kagura's body.
The second model is a Summer Outfit model of her. It's a small one (only 4 inches tall) but it is pretty cute. :-D
The third model (Kotobukiya 1/7 Kagura) is sort of a combination of the first two models with Kagura wearing a light red swimsuit. I like the pose with her sitting down and foot fans will definitely love that that we to see the tops and bottoms of her feet. ^_^ The drink she is holding is also a nice touch
Last is a Bonnou-Tei 1/6 size resin garage kit model of Kagura. Her athletic tomboy personality really shines through in this one with the bat connecting her to her sports background. This model seems like it is designed for the character to be standing up though (as this figure's first image cleverly demonstrates) it looks like it possible for the character to be sitting down as well giving us a great view of her soles.
Ok everyone...that will conclude today's post. I'm away visiting my family for a bit for Passover so my so my response time might be pretty slow. (I set this post to go out in advanced. ^_^) I just want to wish everyone Happy Holidays... Easter...Passover...whatever anyone is celebrating. DeleteThis is why I don’t buy these figures; they can never get the faces right. They always look unnatural.
ReplyDeleteYeah... I think these are a much older set of models. Some newer models wind up looking a lot more realistic.
