Our next Game of Thrones female character up is the cute pirate Yara Greyjoy

Yara is the sister of Theon Greyjoy (a more prominent character in the series). Her father Balon Greyjoy was the King of the Iron islands making her his heir. Usually women don't ascend to a position of leadership within the Iron Islands but Yara proved to be such a capable and strong leader that her father opted to put her ahead of her . She is a captain within the Iron Islands and her crew respects her tremendously as do most people that she encounters.
An interesting sidenote is that Yara's name was changed in the Game of Thrones television series. In the book she is named Asha but in order to avoid confusion with another character in the series with a similar sounding name (Osha), the producers of the HBO series changed her name Yara instead. Yara appearance also differs slightly in the books as she is depicted with Raven Black hair (see artwork Below)
Since she's sort of a female pirate, Yara is a fun character to fantasize about. Imagine getting captured by her and having to worship her feet for mercy. ^_^
